Starting in 1973, Elizabeth Arden offered a series of Porcelain Collections to promote fragrance sales during the Christmas period. There was a new theme, often portraying a Cultural or Art Period, each year and only a limited number produced in each collection.
The Royal Cat box was part of the 1980 Byzantium collection.
