Vintage Chinese Wicker Brass Woven Medium Table Chest Latch

This is a lovely woven 8" long and 4 3/4" high chest of wicker and thin brass strands woven in an intricate pattern on all sides of the chest. The 1" brass plating goes around the top and bottom of the base as well as on the edge of the domed top. The brass has seen better days but if you don't like the patina as it is, you can clean and polish the patina off, at least somewhat. The brass diamond patterns on several sides have the same condition issue. There are places where the brass shows sign of some wear some patina and probably some grime. Again, the issue is whether you prefer all shiny and new or with its earned patina.. The Latch is not intended to lock but only to securely close. The design of the Latch adds to the unique vintage look of yhe chest.
