I found this Santa and reindeer packed away at my dad's house (pet and smoke free) after he passed. Searching around on the internet both the Santa and reindeer appear to be celluloid, although I seem to remember calling that type of plastic something different. Both are super light weight plastic - the kind that would easily squash if squeezed. Based on the type of plastic I assume these are from the 1940s, but could be newer.

The Santa is in great shape but is glued to the "sled." (see the pictures) The sled has a piece broken off and that part is now attached to the piece on the reindeer that attaches to the harness (tug? - I'm not a horse/reindeer expert!).

The poor reindeer is missing one antler and has a broken leg. I'm hoping someone can adopt him and fix him up! Otherwise he is in good shape with what appears to be the original reins.

I'm not sure if these two pieces came as a set or were jerry-rigged to make a Santa and reindeer. Most of the Santas I'm finding that look like this one had skis and ski poles. See Santa's hands which have an opening in the "mittens" that could either hold the reins or poles. I didn't attempt to put the reins through his hands because the plastic is so fragile and I have a poor track record with "fixing" things.

    All of my items come from a smoke-free home. We have one cat that I try to keep away from things that I'm selling, especially clothing or other items that could collect cat dander.
