This is a vintage figurine of a very fine frog! Made in Japan, probably during the mid 1950s, this happy little hopper was crafted from a light-weight porcelain, and hand painted. He is posed reclining in his smock, but with his painter's palette still in hand. Perhaps he is taking a break, to smoke his pipe and admire his work. He has used a large lily pad as his canvas, and has painted a little country cottage on a hill. Truly a great artist! Condition: This frog is in excellent shape! He has no chips, cracks, repairs, or any other damage that I could find. A lot of his details were added in cold-paint, which is prone to wear over time, but his paint is nearly completely intact, with hardly a missing speckle. I don't often say this, but he's honestly nearly perfect. Size: He measures 3½" across, is 1¾" wide, and sits nearly 3½" tall.
