Up for sale is a beautiful, hand-thrown stoneware batter bowl from the renowned Original Owens Pottery of Seagrove, North Carolina. Founded in 1895, this is North Carolina's oldest continuously operating pottery. This specific piece is dated 1986 and features the signature "N Owens" (Nancy Owens Brewer). It is a perfect blend of utility and folk art, featuring a functional pouring spout and a sturdy, hand-pulled handle. Pattern: Hand-painted blue floral/botanical sprigs on a speckled light gray glaze with a brown-trimmed rim. Form: Round mixing/batter bowl with integrated pouring lip and single handle.
Markings: Hand-signed "N Owens" and dated "1986" on the unglazed red clay base.
