Vintage 1950's Original Pop / Pop-It Beads - Over 4ft!

Sold in Five & Dime stores during the 50's, these classic beads were hugely popular as they came in a variety of colours and finishes, with the pearl-like ones being especially sought after as they were much more affordable than true pearl necklaces. That, and thanks to the Pop Beads' form, one could change and customize lengths, from bracelets to long necklaces.

This is a 50" long strand of Pop Beads in lovely pearlescent green tones.

The white or off white pearl style was very popular as an alternative to higher priced pearl necklaces with the added advantage that Pearl Pop Beads could be changed to any length from choker to longer, looped strands.
