I wish I had one of these when my sons were babies - a bakelite serving dish seated permanently in a chrome plated base! A pretty green knob unscrews for you to put hot water in the base to keep the food warm while you fly the airplanes into the hanger! Brilliant! The design of the 3-section divided plate is classic: Little Bo-Peep with her lambs in the biggest section along with a 2 smaller sections one featuring a cat and one a dog. The base also has 2 good sized scalloped chrome plated handles. Its design was patented and the dish was made in 1944 by the Bartsch Mfg. Co. in Chicago. This piece is beautifully made. Measurements: 9 1/4" across from outside tip of handle to opposite. Ceramic dish is 6 3/4" in diameter. Food compartments are 1 1/2" deep. Excellent condition. Keywords: Nursery, Mid-Century, Retro, Baby Shower, Collectible, Farmhouse, Storybook, Kitsch, Shabby Chic, Antique, Nursery Rhyme, Toddler, Gift, Decorative, Chrome

Hello everyone! After a lifetime enjoying the arts as an actress, theatre managing director, interior designer, crafter and writer, I have taken up the art of finding treasures and passing them on: i.e. reselling! So happy to be part of this group.
