Up for sale is an outstanding Stanley 608 Bedrock plane. This one is the type 3. It has the one Pat. date on the lateral adj. lever, the B casting marks on the bed and the lever cap. It has the Q logo on the blade iron. This is one of the finest planes I have ever seen. The tote and knob are perfect and show almost no ware at all. There are no marks on them and they have their original patina. The smooth bed also show almost no ware and no marks or scratches . The 3 line lever cap is as sharp as you will ever see. The Q logo on the iron is sharp and the one pat. date on the lateral adj. lever is also sharp. The Japanning on the bed was a little spotty so I stripped it off and painted the bed with a semi gloss paint. I think it looks share. I would have re-Japanned it but don't have a large enough oven to bake it 3 or 4 times. These 120 year old planes don't come any nicer than this one . I would say from looking at the plane is has seen very little use. I would call this plane near mint, would be mint if I had not painted it. Message me with any questions or if you want more pi
