Stanley # 8 Type 14 Hand Plane Corrugated Sole Nice Sweetheart

Up for sale is a nice Stanley #8 Type 14 hand plane. This plane has the large adj. nut and high knob. This plane has the sweetheart AA logo on the iron. This is a very nice plane over all, the horn on the tote has been knocked off. Not sure if this was done on purpose or not. Many of these old planes had the horn cut back, I think because the lateral adj. lever got loose and rubbed on it, easier to do that than tighten up the lever.. The tote and knob have the beautiful Rosewood patina still intake. There is a very small hairline crack on the mouth on the left side, about a 1/16" and it doesn't go to the side. It shouldn't affect the performance of the plane in anyway.

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
