Up for sale is a super nice Stanley #6 Type 8. It has the B foundry marks on the bed, frog, and lever cap. It also has the one pat. date on the lateral adj. lever. The grooved sole is in great shape with no pitting on major scratches or dings. The horn on the tote has been sawed back as you will see on a lot of these older planes. This was done to help access the thumb tab on the lateral adj. lever. The rosewood tote and knob have their gorgeous original patina

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
