Details

Up for sale is a Stanley #5 Type 9 Hand Plane. It has the corrugated Sole and it is in great shape, no pitting or major marks. The tote has had the horn shaved off as was the custom back in the day. The original iron had a crack in it so I replaced it with a Sargent Hercules iron. It is in great shape and is 7 1/2" long. It has good tool steel on the lower half. The lever cap has a B casting mark on it, a left over from the type 8 production run. The Japanning on the plane was very spotty on it so I stripped it down and re-Japanned it with the original formula used in the Stanley factories
