Up for sale is a Super nice Stanley #5 1/2 type 8 hand plane . The plane has the B foundry marks on the bed, frog, and lever cap. The gorgeous rosewood tote and knob are perfect with their original patina. The plane has the one patent date on the lateral adj. lever. The original iron has been replaced with a AA sweetheart blade with a lot of blade left.

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
