Vintage LusterWare Vase 6”

I love to bowl, and so does this cat! It's ready to hit the lanes with its bowling ball and its bowling shoes.

The size of each cat varies. I’ve included a picture of each cat with a ruler so that you can get an idea of each cat’s size. Generally, the cats range between 1 and 2 inches tall.

Each of Shirley’s Cats is hand-sculpted and hand-painted. No two will be exactly alike. Any “imperfections” come from the sculpting and painting process. These can include (but not limited to) paint splatters, small divots and pits, and/or rough patches.

Each cat is hand-sculpted using polymer clay. The center of each cat has an aluminum foil core (to add strength to the final piece and to ensure even baking). Acrylic paints are used and each cat is sealed using a resin-based gloss finish (set using UV light). These cats are not intended for children under the age of 8. Do not put the cats in your mouth. The gloss finish is not food-safe, and smaller cats may pose a choking hazard.

Shirley’s Cats are a line of pudgy cat sculptures. They are named for my mother-in-law Shirley. Shirley loved all animals, particularly her cats. She often cooked for her cats, and any strays that stopped by. A few of these strays eventually became a part of the household. Shirley’s love of cats inspired me to make this line of sculptures. I hope they make you all smile!
