This set/2 Japanese candle holders features a delightful butterfly, hand painted orange vine, vibrant flower design pattern, on a matte glaze yellow ceramic body. The combination is lively and wonderful. The vivid color tone is classic 30s Japan, designed to be eye catching, jolly and reminiscent of the more romantic Art Deco era. These charming candle holders should be cleaned with a damp cloth to preserve their finish. Purchase them to use or display but either way they're becoming very collectable.

AS IS: Japanese ceramics from this era are infamous for chipping and rushed painted surfaces because of mass production techniques, unfortunately thats the case with these two holders. I personally adore the subtle surface ware of age and the slight loss of paint from some of the line work. I really don't think it takes a way from the overall beauty of the designs or their function. You be the judge. No cracks or repairs. Please review the pics for details.

I have described these handsome pieces as best I can, but additional to my description I have provided several high-resolution images from varying angles to allow for a more detailed review of quality, and condition.
