Parplus #3 Sized Smoothing Plane to Restore, Pexto made?

$30.00

Details

Parplus #3 sized smoothing plane to restore. May had been made by Pexto, but was sold by Metal Products sometime in the 1940-1950's. has low knob and a pressed steel frog that I did a quick repaint since it did not look nice. I usually do not repaint parts, but the steel just doesn't look nice "aged". I have cleaned it to check for damage, applied boiled linseed oil and shellac to the tote and handle just for protection. You will need to lap/flatten the sole, match the chip breaker to the iron and sharpen the iron. Rex and many others have videos showing how to do this, or just ask me and I'll give a rundown how I do it. I was sharpening irons, flattening the soles and mating the chip breaker and getting them shop ready, but the cold weather has really been affecting my arthritis, so I am not able to do much restoration right now. But I need to clear out some inventory to make room so I can do some remodeling in my basement and shop area soon.
