ORVIETO ROOSTER Lidded Casserole Deruta Majolica Large Green Ceramic. This is a hard to find vintage large lidded casserole, vegetable, or soup bowl. It measures approximately 8.5” in diameter & 6.5” high. It is in very nice overall condition, no chips or cracks. Only the tiniest bit of crazing in one small area which can only be observed when viewed up close. We took a close up photo #6 for your observation. Ceramiche Sberna is one of the most important factories in Deruta, which is famous the word over for their lovely handmade Italian ceramics. Sberna was founded in the late 1950’s by Francesco Sberna, a master craftsman of majolica. Today, Sberna is known for their superb craftsmanship and beautiful traditional designs.
