Details

Mid to Late 1800's Hollow Beading or Molding Hand Plane by Ohio Tool Co This is a 5/8" (five eights inch) hollow or molding (depending on what you call it) hand plane made by the Ohio Tool Co in, Ohio or WV depending on the year. This plane was produced sometime after 1851, The Ohio Tool Co started in 1821, but was incorporated in 51, so with the stamp I assume this is post 1851. The Ohio tool company factory was destroyed in 1913 by a flood, moved to West Virginia and closed it's doors in 1920. There is some faint words under the "Ohio Tool Co" that I can not make out, it was all I could do to make out the Ohio Tool Co. So, lets say this plane is from between 1851 and 1900, just because...

This plane has seen a lot of use (see photos/video) the mouth has a little damage and the wedge is cracked. The iron is in great condition I think.

I did clean the plane and it's parts a little with just 000 steel wool, I have played with the plane some and it will make hollowed out shapes in construction lumber. But I only just played around with it, I never really tried to make actual usable trim/moldings or shapes
