Made by me, I call this piece permission because it was inspired by the healing process and giving myself permission to heal from the same thing more than once. This refers to the layers of healing. Since this approach meant so much to me, I felt inspired to create this piece as part of my own healing and know there is someone who would appreciate this piece.
I started with a thrifted frame (this is NOT new, not a perfect frame), kept the mat intact and added a design of wallpaper and my own handwriting printed on 67lb paper, attached a lock (I think it's ceramic) and started gluing moss to the frame. I had the key and thought it would be perfect for this piece so I brushed on some copper/metallic paint on the lock and the key to bring them together, added the string of beads and handwrote this:
"Give yourself permission to heal from the same thing more than once." A quote by Alex Elle.
