No chips or cracks Partial made in Italy sticker 6” x 2.5” Venetian glassmaking has a rich history dating back to the 13th century when the Venetian Republic moved glass furnaces to the island of Murano to reduce the risk of fires in Venice. Venetian artisans developed unique techniques, including the bullicante method, which involves trapping air bubbles within the glass to create a decorative effect.
Amber-colored glass with gold flecks was also a popular style during the mid-century modern era. These pieces were often produced as decorative items such as vases, bowls, and ashtrays. Given the style and technique, this piece likely originates from Venice, Italy, and was created during the mid-20th century. The bullicante technique combined with the amber color and gold flecks makes it a desirable piece for collectors of mid-century art glass.
