This vibrantly colored fish-shaped plate, likely made of terracotta, depicts a lively Mexican folk art scene. This type of pottery is often referred to as a "Mexican Fish Story Plate" or "storyteller pottery" because the painted imagery tells a narrative.
This is a used piece. I am unsure of its age or origins. See photos for condition and size. I could find no cracks or dings.

I am a Lutheran pastor living in Philadelphia. I love treasures and finding them in odd places. I secretly long to go mudlarking. I’ve always wanted a metal detector. And I’ve never been to a “bad” thrift store. (Don’t tell my spouse how much you can buy with twenty bucks!) My adult daughter is often my thrifting companion.
