Decorative Native American plate in excellent condition. No chips or cracks. Plate diameter is approximately 10” The genre of this plate shows a Native American Warrior with both arms raised in exuberance, sitting on his horse which is grazing. The background scene features a large cactus ,a tree, adobes and mountains. The colors on the plate are mostly earth tones in green,brown,black,yellow, silver, beige and turquoise. The plate is made of earthenware clay and has a thick shiny clear glaze that has been further fired and glazed over the raised scene and outer rim. The outer rim of the plate is a sponge ware design in black. This late 20th century,Modern majolica plate would be considered as a decorative object and would be displayed on a wall or upright on a table.
