MACKENZIE CHILDS candlestick holders comes from the early Aurora pattern, created in 1988 during the company’s foundational studio years in Aurora, New York. Standing approximately seven inches high, the pair has a graceful, balanced silhouette that works beautifully on a dining table, sideboard, or mantel. The glazing reflects the Aurora palette with its gentle pastels and subtle detailing, each piece showing the individual variations that come only from hand‑painted studio work. The ceramic bodies have a pleasing weight and a glossy finish, characteristic of late‑1980s MacKenzie‑Childs production.
Made in the United States at the original Aurora studio, these candlesticks are now retired and increasingly difficult to find as a matched pair. They remain clean, bright, and well‑preserved, offering both functional use and strong decorative presence.
A lovely example of early MacKenzie‑Childs artistry, full of charm and studio character, and a beautiful addition to any collection of vintage MC ceramics. VERY GOOD pre-owned. No chips or body cracks - one of the candlesticks has some crazing - first noticed as fine vertical hairline in the glaze and then a few fainter lines nearby, a surface‑level flaw that does not affect stability or display. Selling since January 2024
With a background as an artist and a love for rescuing homeless items I find great satisfaction in re-homing beautiful things. My hobby is hunting down these items from estates, moving sales, thrift shops and the like and my job is getting them to you. All items are cleaned, inspected and tested (if warranted) then carefully packed for shipment to their new home.
