Carved on both sides with different scenes. One side is a beautiful tree the while the other is incredible leaves, flowers and scroll work. A beautiful glaze with a glossy white wash effect. Signed Davis '75. I do not see any chips or feel any bruises but I do encourage you to look at all of the photos before purchase. This is a beautiful piece by itself or lit from the inside. It is approx. 6" tall and 4" across. (narrower at the base) I have watched potters demonstrate this technique and it is stunning to watch them work. Cutting out all the tiny little pieces and etching lines to make a work of art on what is already a work of art. It looks as though it has held a regular candle at one point, but battery operated lights would work just as well. This would fit a votive, a tea light, or a 4 inch pillar. It would be pretty decorating a shelf with a colored candle in it to show off the carving. Thank you for supporting my small business.
