Swirls upon swirls known as "filigrana" give this dramatic piece its shape and its drama. Here Larry Laslo was known for creating distinctive pieces for Mikada in the 1980's. This piece shows his style of blending modern art shapes with traditional elegance. Filigrana is a classic, historic technique that originated with the master glassblowers of Murano in the 16th Century using fine canes or rods of glass that are fused and shaped into various patterns.
