This 1950s paper Mache Easter egg candy container sweetly captures the hope and renewal of spring and Ester in the graphics of a pair of chicks, boy and girl, together on a branch swim, surrounding by forsythia, flowering vines, butterflies and green hills. Iconic imagery from post war children’s books and toys. The interior paper is red floral print, and white paper lace trim is intact.

It measures 8.5” long by 5” wide by 5” deep.

There are signs of age related wear such as a lid that doesn’t not fit perfectly any more, and some warping of the paper overlay due to humidity, but that certainly doesn’t dimish its exceptional vintage charm. Hand made crafts such as this are rare! The era specific graphics make this a very unique item, and it will be a great addition to your Easter decor!
