Indian brass elephant claw bell, also known as a temple bell. It features hand-engraved floral and foliate motifs with red enamel accents. Origin: Etched marking "INDIA" on one tine and “102” on another. Traditional Use: Used on working or ceremonial elephants as a warning device in crowded streets or to locate grazing animals. Symbolism: In Hinduism, bells are believed to dispel negative energy and bring good luck, wealth, and strength. It has a beautiful sound, sounding like the sort of peel that you might hear during meditative practices. It is in very good condition for its age and made from solid brass.
