To create this lovely night light, I first created the dancer. I mix glass powder and water, layer it in different silicone molds, and then freeze it solid. Once frozen, I remove it from the mold onto a kiln shelf. Next, it is fired overnight in the kiln. During this time, I work on the other pieces. Using a glass cutter and other tools, I cut the teardrop shape for the background. Once the glass is cut, is taken to the grinder to smooth it out and make sure it is even. Once the dancer is finished, I add her to the teardrop piece and then I added chunky iridescent glass pieces all around the dancer so that it will shimmer and shine when lit. It goes back into the kiln on something called a tack fuse. Once cool, I clean it up and add the night light hardware.
