Wow, I said when I saw this. So unique and an owl too! This handmade carved lidded stein is attributed to Germany. There was a sticky note attached that said CZ but everything I see in my research points to Germany. The painting is beautiful and even the inside of the lid is painted. It's approximately 9 inches high and wide including the handle. There are two small white spots on the front side where the glazing is gone and exposed underneath. The bottom birch material might be birch skin or some other material but the stein is most definitely wood. The inside is glazed as well and the bark on the top of the lid not quite flush but I suspect it's been like that since made. Please inspect all the photos as they are part of the description.
