Polar Bear trinket box with scrimshaw scene on lid.   Made in England in beautiful condition - an amazing piece of soapstone. Typically, scrimshaw referred to the artwork created by whalers, engraved on the byproducts of whales, such as bones or cartilage.

I've been selling vintage since the late 1980's.  I love vintage and antique glass but have many collections including antique farm items. Quilting is my passion, and I have been designing quilts for years and sewing since I was 7.   I grew up on my grandparents' cattle ranch in California and now live in the San Francisco Bay Area to be close to my kids & 5 little grandsons.
