This stunning set was made by Coalport of Shropshire, England makers of fine china since 1795, from an original engraving called "Indian Tree" dating to 1801. The set itself dates to the period 1801 - 1939 (when it was discontinued); the scalloped edge on the saucer places it at the older end of that time period. "Indian Tree" was one of the company's most enduring and popular designs. Coalport was purchased by Wedgewood in 1967.
