Mudmen figures thrived through the centuries in China, as they were different from ordinary figurines. They were made individually by hand and involved nearly all members of the village. Mudmen were brightly glazed figurines of men, women, wise men, and old sages, seated or standing, holding flutes, scrolls, pots, fish, and other objects of mystical importance.

Standing at 7 Inches tall (and 4 1/2" at its widest point), this glazed ceramic Chinese God mudman statue offers the staff of longevity; his young disciple holds the peach of immortality that blooms once every 3,000 years.

Shou Xin Gong is recognized for his high forehead, representing wisdom, and his extended beard representing long life. An excellent addition to your collection.
