Details
Hand carved Imperial Chinese Lion/Foo Dog with ball under his paw, signifying its male. The male lion symbolically guards the outside of the palace or home, while the female protects the interior. This lion’s mouth is open in a roar to scare off evil spirits. These statues were traditionally placed outside the home for protection, and the more curls on the head, the higher the rank of the person dwelling inside. Measures 5.75” high, 4.75” long, 2.25” deep. Good vintage condition with minor signs of age related wear. Smoke free pet free home.
