Pretty pottery vase from 1950 West Germany. White background with deep rose veining and shimmering yellow splatters. The banded neck is in gold, original maker label attached. The drip glaze merges into a midnight black base, with the style number 414-G and WEST GERMANY in raised letters. This particular design was created by Trude Carstens between 1955-1956, before other Carstens designers turned to more brutalist styles in the 1960s. The company went bankrupt in 1977 after rapid global expansion, but operated under different management till 1984. Measures 4.5” diameter, 3.5” high, and is in excellent vintage condition with no chips cracks or damage.
