This whimsical handmade studio pottery vase by Blue Spruce Pottery (Bend, Oregon) is a charming example of rustic artistry with a hidden surprise — an owl face!

Two rosette-style appliqués form wide-set “eyes,” while flowing carved lines below evoke feathers, creating the look of a wise owl staring out from the clay. Warm earth-tone glazes in speckled tan and rust give the piece a cozy, woodland vibe. Finished with a thick flared rim and signed on the base with Blue Spruce Pottery’s signature tree mark.
