Beautiful 5" Tall Cranberry Glass Vase Hand Painted White Floral Ruffled Rim

Gorgeous by itself - or fill it with flowers! Research shows this vase was made by Rainbow Glass Co., Huntington, West Virginia and in operation from 1942-1973. It is safe to say this piece dates from between 1942-1954, the timeframe during which the company purchased glass from other companies and added decoration. After 1954, Rainbow Glass started producing their own glass. It was purchased by Viking Glass. This vase was produced by hand using a process called "flashed" glass. This involves taking a "gather" of clear glass adding a "gather" of colored glass over it and then blowing the two together as one. In the final picture, you can see tiny areas of clear glass - this is not a defect but a result of this process. Measurements: 5" tall, 5" at widest point. Excellent condition for a piece of this age. No chips or cracks. Some of the gold scrollwork has faded. Item shown is the exact item you will receive.
