The ULTIMATE flower frog, this clay figure is part of a collection called "Weed People". They are called weed people because they have little holes (3 in his head and one in his hand) designed to hold dried weeds or flowers. They had a little poem that went along with them...

"Weed People" are everybody's And, like weeds, they are everywhere. They offer you a flower, Because love springs in their heart. Each one suggests a smile, As their purpose is to please you. And each is an individual, Even as we are.

Every weed person is designed by Audrey Nelson & is handcrafted.

This solid fired clay figurine by Audrey Nelson (1928–2012), is in good condition (please see pictures for specific details) and measures approximately 7" tall x 4" wide x 4 1/2" deep.

Audrey was from Pittsburgh PA, got her bachelor of fine arts degree from Carnegie Melon University. Audrey owned and operated Nelson Crafts on Brook Road in Goshen, PA from the early 1970’s until sometime in the 2000's. She was prolific in her creation of art and handcrafts which included pottery, painting, sculpture, and weaving. She was best known for her creation of the “weed people” which sold abundantly at craft fairs and retail outlets. Audrey was gifted with a creative spirit and energy that she enjoyed throughout her life.
