Gorgeous antique EPNS silver plate champagne magnum/wine bottle holder. These were used in the Victorian/Edwardian era because it was considered improper to have a bare wine bottle on the sideboard. This is hallmarked by silversmith Thomas White of Sheffield England, a known area for fine silver. This is much thicker plate than current silver plate.
Thomas White was in business from 1872 - 1891, the style of the pierced work makes me think this is Eastlake style, popular in the 1880s.
Size: 7″ h x 7.25' w across the handles, opening is 4.5" w
Condition: Good vintage condition. There is some discoloration on the bottom interior of the piece, largely because the bottom is not plated. I did not take a photo of it because it reflects on the sides and looks much worse than it actually is. There are a few tiny scattered tarnish spots which will not clean up, please see photos.

Hi, I'm Cynthia. I am a shop owner on multiple platforms with 20+ years of experience. I do everything within my power, including packing with great care and shipping fully insured, to get your "thing of beauty" to you safely. I have recently moved to the mountains of eastern Tennessee where I find my treasures and offer them to you, the beholder. I hope you will find your "thing of beauty" here.
I was raised in a home where bone china, silver and fine crystal were both used and appreciated. This translated into a love of antiques and handmade items of similar quality. I love the journey that leads me to these beautiful things and I hope you will enjoy my "finds" as much as I have enjoyed finding them.
Please feel free to reach out to me via text or email with any questions you may have. I am frequently hiking on the weekends so your best chance of a speedy response will be during weekday business hours.
Follow me on FB and Instagram where I share additional information on the creation/history of my items.
Helping you find your thing of beauty, Cynthia
