Details

Charles P Meier (b. 1897- d.1976) was an American artist, known primarily for very funny Prohibition era cartoons, who moved in to design and decorating after WWII. He lived in Forest Hills, NY and Cornwall, NJ, where, once his design business took off, he designed and decorated homes, clubs and hotels across New York, the Eastern Seabord, Miami and as far as Mexico. He was prolific, but research has found only a couple of pieces of metal ware or serve ware available online or at auction.

This tray is HUGE - 19” in diameter - with the hotel initials ASH in Art Deco script on front, with the original manufacturing sticker still on the back - CP MEIER Studio Styled Tray, Walnut Street, Cosho…[] (possibly Coshocton, OH.) There is significant age related loss of enamel that certainly adds to the shabby chic cachet of this piece. It will add unquestionable elan to our modern farmhouse or coastal casual decor.

Please keep in mind that vintage items are not new items. They are gently used and may show some signs of wear due to being loved and utilized over the years. Any major flaws or defects will always be noted in the description and documented in photos of the item.
