This brightly colored comic antique Halloween postcard says, “A busy Jack Lantern.” The card features a man that is scared by a jack ‘o lantern balanced on a tree trunk with branches that look like arms. There is another man peeking around from the back of the tree trunk, waiting to see the reaction to his scary tree prank! The front is marked “Copyright 1909 by Julius Bien & Co., N.Y.” The card is heavily embossed, and has very nice colors. The message on the back reads, “Dear Neal, I hope Herb don’t get as badly frightened as that fellow. Hallow E’en might. Are you still in the laundry. Write won’t you please. Yours Truly, Mrs. W.m Manus R.R.6, River Falls, Wis,; Miss Neal Hillman, Minnequa Hospital, Pueblo, Colo”.

The condition of this postcard is Good. Typical for its age, it has signs of wear such as worn corners, edge wear, a small peeled piece of front design on the edge of upper right corner, a small tape piece in the middle of the writing side, an ink smudge on the front left side, along with other age-related wear.
