This is a set of 2 white opalescent EAPG* glass bowls from the early 1900s (*Early American Pressed Glass.) Antique pieces by Northwood / Dugan in white & clear. The high footed bowl is in their inverted "Fan & Feather" pattern. This pattern was produced 1901 - 1904 by Northwood & then it was taken over by Dugan Glass. This bowl was listed in their catalog as a high footed receiver, meaning it was meant to be an Edwardian card receiver. Great for the Bridgerton or Downton lover, these would also make lovely wedding or shower decor. The design is embossed and the rim has fancy pointed edges from their "oriental assortment" and that influence is seen in the design. Every piece has a different amount and coverage of the white opalescence, making each one of a kind.
The ruffled bowl was made in 1905 by Northwood Glass of PA in their Blossoms & Palms pattern . The bowl is clear in the center to opaque white opalescence on the edges. As you can see in the photos these pieces are particularly striking when displayed against a dark background to highlight the opalescence and read faintly blue but aren't. This type of glass is particularly attractive for winter decor - fill with red & green glass ornaments for Christmas and then switch to blue & silver for New Years. :D The glass has a faint amberish tinge to it in natural light which I find typical of this age/type of glass.
Size: Receiver - 7.25" w x 3" h Bowl - 8" w x 2.5" h
Condition*: Both are in excellent used condition with no chips or cracks. There are a few small scratches from use and the bowl has a mold mark in one spot (see photos.) Nothing that detracts from their overall appearance or use imo.

Hi, I'm Cynthia. I am a shop owner with 10+ years of experience. I do everything within my power, including packing with great care and shipping fully insured, to get your "thing of beauty" to you safely. I shop the fine estate sales and auctions in the horse country of north Georgia, nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, and bring them to you, the beholder.
I was raised in a home where bone china, silver and fine crystal were both used and appreciated. This translated into a love of antiques and handmade items of similar quality. I love the journey that leads me to these beautiful things and I hope you will enjoy my "finds" as much as I have enjoyed finding them.
Please feel free to reach out to me via text or email with any questions you may have. I am frequently hiking on the weekends so your best chance of a speedy response will be during weekday business hours.
Follow me on FB and Instagram where I share additional information on the creation/history of my items.
Helping you find your thing of beauty, Cynthia
