Details
This urban excavated glass vessel once contained mineral water. The glass is a light to medium green, hinting with a shade of teal. This color is unique to glass houses in the Philadelphia and New Jersey region. This bottle was made for George Twitchell for his mineral water business which was in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This cork top bottle dates to the Civil War. Measuring 7.5 inches tall x 2.25 inches wide, this bottle is blown in a mold with a hand applied "top hat" style lip. Bottle retains some scratches and staining from being dug, there are two small ice pick chips in the lip from where the cork was originally pried out. No other chips, no cracks.
