Mid-century costume jewelry brooch. Inside, it is SIGNED "A.J.C,". It's a rocking horse. Gold-toned rhodium, both brushed and shiny. The brooch measures 2-3/8" A.J.C. is an acronym for American Jewelry Chain Company, one of the last American costume jewelry manufacturers, located in Rhode Island. They were in business from about 1927-1997 and their incredibly popular brand produced high quality figural jewelry, such as pins and brooches. Since this company closed almost 30 years ago, all of its' jewelry and decorative products are considered sought after collectibles. The item is in excellent vintage condition, with no wear. No damage or repairs. The pin on the back moves freely and is held firmly by a rolling C clasp. The mechanism works well.
