This adorable Hippo appears to be carved with tribal symbols. Not sure if it is soapstone or ceramic. It is solid and heavy (2 lbs 14 oz), and has some small scratches that show white on the sides, but it does not take away from the beauty of the piece. The bottoms of the feet are felted to protect furniture. This is a piece that will integrate with any decor.
