I am a retired Children's Library Services Librarian. I put books in children’s hands. I've read thousands of storybooks aloud to children and their grownups. Now I make books and book art. I take books apart and make new ones. I quilt with paper. I cut and paste. I make multi-use journals with pocket pages, blank pages, map pages, ledger pages, lined pages. Each one has a bit of vintage – maybe the covers and contents of Little Golden Books or atlas and map pages, some old dictionary pages and music scores. I think of my books as starter journals. You fill the pockets and pages with your stories. Or Lists. Or hopes and dreams. Or sorrows. Share one with a grandchild, add to the contents together.
