Spode Rockingham Post 1950s Fruit Plate Butterflies. This 8 inch plate is perfect to serve a desert or just for decoration. Yellow painted edge. Maker's mark printed on base. High quality Bone China. Very minor utensil scratches.
First introduced in 1917, the pattern originally exclusive to Harrods of Knightsbridge in London. A bone china version for tea and coffee ware was produced in 1918. The pattern of fruit and flowers was designed by the brilliant artist Arthur Perry who worked at Spode from 1885 to 1889, and again from 1895 to 1928. Many versions of the pattern are known in different color schemes and variations. The pattern was last retired in 1985.
