Jie Gantofta was a Swedish ceramics factory founded in 1942 in Helsingborg, Sweden, and it became renowned for its decorative art pottery, particularly figurines and wall plaques. The factory employed several talented artists, including Maria Ericson, whose work often featured stylized animals and nature motifs. These pieces are sought after by collectors for their artistic quality and Swedish design heritage.

Maria Ericson, a prominent designer for Jie Gantofta, created many popular ceramic animal figures during the mid to late 20th century. Her Basset Hound designs are particularly recognizable for their charming and expressive portrayal of the breed.
