Details

5x8 no chips or cracks. Amberina glass is a type of art glass developed by Joseph Locke for the New England Glass Company in 1883. It is known for its distinctive color gradient, transitioning from a ruby red at the rim to a golden amber at the base, achieved through a specific reheating process. This technique creates a beautiful, fiery effect that made Amberina glass highly popular during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Fenton Art Glass Company, established in 1905, became a prominent producer of Amberina glass, often featuring hobnail patterns. Their pieces are highly sought after by collectors for their quality craftsmanship and vibrant colors. The hobnail pattern, characterized by raised glass bumps, adds a tactile and visual dimension to the glass, making Fenton's Amberina hobnail pieces particularly desirable.
