Collectable pottery, Dutch, 1900s . This is a rare and beautiful art nouveau pottery vase designed by Bert Nienhuis (1873 - 1960) for Distel Pottery (Amsterdam, Holland) in about 1905. This then very modern design of geometric lines and dots in green and brown on a cream background was in Nienhuis’ distinctive and internationally award winning style. Made from hand painted earthenware, there is crazing throughout the thick matte satin glaze due to age. Otherwise, no cracks or chips, very good condition. The de Distel stamp is on the base. This elegant flask-shaped vase features an inverted conical base with narrow, elongated neck and flared lip.

Hi! My name is Sue Ellen, or just plain Sue, and Vintage Like Moi (mwa)'s my username. As it implies, I was a child of the 60's and 70's. I have a nostalgia for the designs of that time and will make them available to you! I'm a life long collector, and vintage and antique glass, pottery, brooches and oddities can be found under my listings. All reasonable offers entertained!
