Local extension offices can help you determine your frost dates. You can also check Old Farmers Almanac https://www.almanac.com/gardening/frostdates, The National Gardening Association https://garden.org/apps/frost-dates/, and your local nursery or gardening center. Frost dates are best estimates, so they may vary several days depending on which resource you use. You can find your local cooperative extension agency using https://extension.org/find-cooperative-extension-in-your-state/. Happy gardening! 💚

I need a label maker for my plants. Any recommendations? Also, what plant stakes/tags do you prefer? Thanks
When I need to use a label maker, I use my old school Brother with clear tape. It works great! I also sell clear acrylic plant tags as well as custom engraved ones if you ever need them 💚

I do use clear sticks. Mine are about 18inches. They take up less space when I have vines for plants in small pots. I use them until my plants get more mature and just create loops with the vine if necessary and then later move to a bigger pot and trellis.

I still use my Brother P-touch Home & Hobby. It’s about 15-20 years old and still does a wonderful job.

My milkweed pot is a 25.5” Ecopots Oslo. There are many different shapes and sizes of Ecopots. 80% recycled plastic and 20% natural minerals. They are very sturdy.

Today I showed the stand up prong weeder that I like. I’ve had Fiskars version in the past, but it broke after only one season. This all metal version has lasted multiple seasons and continues to work well. I also like the plunger that helps clear the prongs. Yard Butler Rocket Weeder

Oooh I’d love to see your work!
They were made by a friend. He can do basic pokers as well as customs. He even does some with edged tools (blades) on the end out of harder steels.

I had this one customized to be shorter so the spike wasn’t so close to my face/eyes. Especially with seedling pots I already bring my face closer.

I work with a lot of seedlings so the thinner end is really nice. For the small roots.

Hand forged potting tools. The poker end for making holes and the one with the flat end is for tamping the soil.

Haha Any requests/needs?
I mean I am open to anything but especially some nice shears/snips. We use Japanese tools for weeding & gardening outside as well (including my spouse’s favorite left handed weeder). I suppose I’m realizing I don’t know what all is even available as options for more indoor horticultural options.
