I have a true winter cactus I could trade for.

Does anyone have a rec for where I could get a variegated holiday cactus? Open to whichever “holiday” just would like to find variegated!

Went to Poots Cactus Nursery yesterday. If you’re local now is a great time to drop in. They just restocked.
Oh how I wish I was local 😍

I made that because I just finished using about 25g of 2% strength. It didn’t kill anything and I’ve been putting it on everything. From propagations to plant mail that already had roots.

Mixed up some root powder. 2% is the strongest I’ve seen on the market. I decided to experiment and double that. If doesn’t work out I can easily dilute it down to 2% with more sulfur. The ingredients are Bonide sulfur fungicide and the IBA ordered on Amazon.
Compare to: Bonide Rooting Hormone - 0.10% Hormex #1 easy plants - 0.10% Hormex #3 moderately easy - 0.30% Hormex #8 moderately difficult to woody -0.80% Hormex #16 difficult woody - 1.6% Clonex rooting gel - 0.31% Honey Bear Living - 2%
You need to let us know if it works well…I’ve never made my own root powder but I’m curious now.

I have some extra euphorbia horrida and seed grown astrophytum sitting around. Would folks be interested in that kind of stuff?

Do I have to wait 2 years for mine too? Lol. How do I encourage mine to bloom?
The monkey tails don’t need maturity to bloom, but they do need lots of light and a winter dormancy of colder temperatures helps encourage blooms too.

I don’t know. I don’t own one I’m not sure how long it takes to reach flowering age. If it is mature lots of sun tends to help.
The reason I said if they never saw flower before is because I couldn’t tell if they were fruits or even dried flowers. Eliminating those due to first time flowering leaves new flowers.

If you’ve had this 2 years and you’ve never seen it bloom those are definitely flowers.
